Yesterday, I pointed out how important framing the health care debate will go a long way in garnering support from undecided and conservatives (not wingers). Well today, while browsing Current.com, I found this interesting article where the author points out that employees are paying for their health care insurance by foregoing their pay raise. Yes, have you ever wondered why wages have not gone up? Its because your premiums have surpassed your wages by 120%. But are the dems pointing that out? Not as far as I am concerned. Its time to go for the money as Kellygrrl so succintly proposed and tell people how their wallets have been hurting by employer-based health care

That’s a very good argument but the problem is there are almost too many good arguments to focus on one. An MSNBC pundit brought up the fact last night for the first time in our history with the provisions in the bills people will have healthcare security. No dropping or switching people who lose jobs, change employers or have preexisting conditions.

Did you see KO tonight? Did you hear that at the Arkansas Town Hall, some lady was claiming that Obama wanted single payer? Did you hear about those protesting that Obama will force them to switch to government health care? Obviously, the administration is not communicating effectively and letting the Right win over the arguments. If we point out what this reform is about and pointing out the money they will save may defeat the Rethugs in the commnication department

My employer has provided additional $$$ for health insurance premiums in lieu of a cost of living increase for many of the past 10 years. I work in state government and at least here they announce that choice and all the employees should be informed. Of course not even getting a cost of living increase means earning power has declined for my fellow employees. I don’t think we are unique because nationally earning power has declined during this same period. I would imagine that one could find real numbers for this phenomenon among public sector employers.

Obama’s poll ratings are going up again.

Personally, I don’t put much stock in polls except right before an election.

Can they go any lower? I think by the time 2012 rolls around, most of what’s left of that party will be pushing up daisies.

They’re headed to be the fat white man’s party and you’re right about the age factor. Their base passes on members and grows smaller every day.
They cannot attract younger voters with their cast in concrete perspective.

There was an article within the last two days talking about them being a Southern white’s party with a picture of some fat hillbilly with a cowboy hat and belt. That’ll sure get them fired up on the college campuses

Is that a loaded Question? Because you can answer that two ways. Given the fact that most of the BS was racheted up after the fact, Yes he probably would be, but if you mean with the BS, then probably not. with a very narrow margin.

I am afraid that the conservatives are winning the framing debate here. That is why President Obama’s poll numbers are heading south.
Those of us on the left just aren’t as accomplished liars as those on the right.

I don’t believe in those polls. It’s total BS. Everyone I know who voted for President Obama, still supports him and his policies 100%. This is trumped up crappola from the MSM. Just like certain people not being happy those two women made it home safely from N Korea. Garbage in, garbage out.

I see it as his support from the right is eroding. It is those people that I think are causing his poll numbers to drop. Right now, at 53%, those are the exact numbers that got him elected. So, those that voted for him, still support him. It was the ones from the right that supported him that are dropping off here. IMO.
