Kirk Cameron, former child star of Growing Pains, current religious right wingnut, is none to happy with the upcoming “Darwin Day” and intends to counter the celebration by comparing Darwin to Hitler and accusing him of misogyny and racism.
In a video posted recently to YouTube, Cameron lays out a plan to subvert ‘Darwin Day’ on November 22, 2009 — a date marking the 150th anniversary of the publishing of Charles Darwin’s “Origin of Species.” Cameron says that he and like-minded activists plan to deliver 50,000 copies of an altered version of Darwin’s book to students at dozens of U.S. universities.
Cameron explains that this “very special” edition of the “Origin of Species” will include an introduction explaining “Adolf Hitler’s undeniable connection” to the theory of evolution, and highlighting “Darwin’s racism” and “his disdain for women.” Cameron’s edition also exposes the “many hoaxes” of evolutionary theory, while presenting a “balanced view of Creationism.”
Now for the FUN part! This YouTube “Origin of Stupidity” was posted by Orly-Taitz doppelganger “ZOMGitsCriss” to parse and counter Cameron’s recent bullshit ramblings:
This story caught my eye, since Cameron and his very large family live near me. Everyone laughs at them and mocks the parties they have, where people are chanting and speaking in tongues on a loud speaker that reverberates through the canyon. He often brings his wife and many many many children to the local sushi bar, where he MUST be seated in a private section with a curtain drawn. Mind you, this is a sushi bar which a great many celebrities frequent, and I’ve yet to see anyone other than Cameron’s family cloistered behind the drawn curtain.
*UPDATE*
Kirk is taking his case to that bastion of journalistic superiority, People magazine, to defend himself and his statements, and speak out against the evils of higher education.
“Atheism has been on the rise for years now, and the Bible of the atheists is The Origin of Species. We have a situation in our country where young people are entering college with a belief in God and exiting with that faith being stripped and shredded. What we want to do is have student make an informed, educated decision before they chuck their faith.”

It evidently happened on Sept 12th and they’ve been keeping it close to their chest. Happened in the “Daniel Boone” National Forest in Kentucky.

This guy has been on this train for a while now. Several years ago I had watched a True Hollywood Story (E!) about Growing Pains. I’m not sure if it was their next to the last season or last season (1992/93?) but he was giving the writers, producers, etc. trouble about some of their scripts and apparently refused to participate in some scenes as they were too risqué.
Sometime during the tail end of this series he became a born again Christian or whatever, thus his problems with the “material.”
I believe the writers did change the scripts to his liking, after all, he was the Star.
Has he been on this mission, “underground” all of this time???

ever since he met the girl he’s married to now (she played his g/f for a couple of seasons)
I guess she showed him the error of his sinner hollywood ways and took him to Calvary church and BOOM! he was done — Sheesh! there’s got to be an easier way to get laid, huh?

LOL, you’re right, I forgot about her. I always get his wife and Michael J. Fox’s wife mixed up — I suppose because they both played their girlfriends in their respective shows.

from Wiki
“Cameron claims he was once an atheist, but around age 17 or 18, during the height of his career on Growing Pains, he developed a belief in God, and became a Christian. After converting to Christianity, he began to insist that story lines be stripped of anything he thought too adult or racy in Growing Pains”
