There’s Something About Mary Landrieu

It’s impossible to say for certain what Time magazine’s Mark Halperin actually hoped to accomplish with this photoshopped image of Senator Mary Landrieu, but it seems safe to assume he was following the green-light lead of GlennDuh Beck, who last week referred to Landrieu as a “high-priced hooker” using her golden vote in the Senate health care debate as a bargaining chip to secure “The Louisiana Purchase.”
In a vain attempt to cling to his diminishing relevance, thRush Limbaugh jumped in and opined, “Mary Landrieu may be the most expensive prostitute in the history of prostitution.”
Much hot-air has been expended by both the left and right regarding the $1 million deal Landrieu secured in exchange for her vote on Saturday to merely allow the health care debate to go forward in the Senate, so no need to rehash all that.
Here’s my question: Where in the hell are the Conservative and Republican Women? These women, be they Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin or Kay Baily Hutchison or Olympia Snowe, how do they remain silent in the face of these grotesque gestures on “their” behalf?
When Mary Matalin stated last week that a conservative woman would be offended were she told to be offended at being slapped in the face by her male Republican co-worker … crickets.
When the RNC this week hired Alex Castellanos, who said that sometimes it is accurate to call a woman a bitch … crickets.
Are these conservative women actually the true epitome of post-feminism?
If so, then what’s with the Faux Outrage over Newsweek’s “sexist” cover photo image of Sarah Palin, a photo for which she posed and approved for Runner’s Magazine?

I think it would make a FINE campaign ad for 2010 – point out that, apparently, repub politicians think it’s a BAD idea to get money for their state (even ravaged LA).
repub women are raised with ow self-esteem. The harpy-types are merely overcompensating. It’s all part of that good old conservative bible-belt wimmen-needs-to-be-subservient thingy. If they didn’t believe that, at least deep down inside, they’d be Democrats and Feminists.

all Catholics are human and imperfect. the political purging and pushing needs to be stood up to.

He doesn’t HAVE to do anything. All people are human and imperfect, not just Catholics, as you know.
This man, Kennedy, is not fighting it nor walking away and neither is Joe Biden, for that matter. Either they’re believers or they’re phonies or…? It’s a faith, to them.
And I can understand that.
I suspect that you do/did have the guts to do it, it just wasn’t the right time. And as far as I know, you aren’t quite that famous yet, or are you that “Housewife” from whatever season…(tee-hee)

Does anybody remember Christie Whitman, Gov of NJ? I liked her (don’t ask me why, I can’t remember) and back “then” she was considered the “Golden Girl” of the Republican Party.
Oh but wait, there’s more. Remember when she named a Rest Stop on the NJ Parkway after Howard Stern?
I know, I thought it was a hoot!
Next thing you know, she was head of the EPA in the GWB Admin which lasted a nanosecond. What was SHE thinking? I dunno anymore.
