TGIF Rangers! Another week down.
.
As it was a Grammy Awards and Oscar (announce) week, thought some music movie tunes would be fitting. Don’t know about you guys, but life has been so heavy of late that some light and fun tunage sounds just the ticket.
Way too many to choose from, but here is a start.
.
.
The Commitments is one of my favorite films, those Irish lads and lasses were amazing. Some Midnight Hour.
.
.
Another great feel good music movie, Almost Famous, gave up Tiny Dancer.
.
.
Gotta’ do Wayne and Garth …
.
.
And because Shine a Light was such a great flick about the best GD band ever, a bit of Sympathy For the Devil.

O.K, now they have biopics about everyone–even Bobby Darrin. I think Cat Stevens’ life is worth a movie. Pop idol as a teen, tuberculosis–months in hospital and he came out mystical, poet/folksinger. Dated everyone from Carly Simon to Patti D’Arbanville. Then shucked it all for a completely different religion. Got in trouble at one point–people burned his records. Just sayin’–there are far more boring people who have had movies made.
Johnny Depp? Look at Cat in the vid……

Kevin Spacey in Beyond The Sea was a great performance. Spacey actually sang all the songs as well as doing the dance numbers. Bobby Darin was a great performer who was out of sync with his time.
I agree that he was not “cool” in the conventional sense for the ’60s, but that does not diminish his talents.

My parents took me to South Pacific when I was a wee one. I think it was my first movie? Anyhow, I used to run around the house singing “101 pound of fun, that’s my little honey bun…..”
Anyhow, they bought the soundtrack. That was another one I memorized all the songs to. I would sing BALI HAI to the top of my lungs when no one was around….
